![]() ![]() Welcome to a new year and a new system as both 2023 and Arks of Omen are upon us! Following in the footsteps of last year’s WarZone: Nephilim, the new Arks of Omen mission pack again brings dramatic changes to the 40k metagame with new army construction rules and mission secondary updates. This week we’re kicking off our series of Arks of Omen Faction Focus articles by looking at Harlequins, who were perhaps the hardest hit by the changes. But considering he got called on his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ several times by various people (including a dev himself), I won't waste my time further. With a new batch of rules updates comes the need to revisit the strategies and tactics of each faction. Whether you (and others) decide to waste time speaking to him, it's up to you. I post this once to give a little context to his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. He has no knowledge of the game, and is just here to whine and draw attention to himself. I could also add that when Rok (One of the two devs) came to ask him concretely what were the issues, corinsentry820 was stuttering a lot because he doesn't even know what's the issue. I.e : Someone that knows nothing is bullshitting. He prefers to whine saying that the devs prefer smaller maps.Īs for "the game favors rush strategies", it's so wrong Tomb Blades have been nerfed a few patches ago to prevent irresistible rushes from Necrons, and Shining Spears are taking a hit in beta to reduce the ability of spamming low tier units quickly to overwhelm most factions. Usually they have enough brains to realize that since they play outside of the standard, they accept potential difference of balance. And obviously this standard is used to make decisions.īut some people play on bigger maps. So of course, most players follow this standard. A medium map is meant for 4 players, a tiny for 2 players etc. It's just (as the rest, really), corinsentry820 bullshitting. The game is not "balanced towards smaller maps". (and, though we don't know the specifics yet, the next unit DLC should bring an answer to this issue) It's PvP players that have insisted on this point for a while. However, PvP is used to determine balance because the AI can't complain when something is broken.įor example, when I beat two Chaos AI on impossible by spamming 24 HP 6 armor flying unit, the AI didn't come on Discord and say "Help, I need some anti-air units in my chaos army list". You can see it by the fact that he has given literally no specifics. I guess he realized that on Discord he didn't have anyone supporting him, so he's trying to get some attention on Steam. You should save yourself time, and simply ignore corinsentry820, as I do on Discord. This is a 4X, not a Warhammer themed Starcraft game. Originally posted by Someguyinhere:That's a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decision if true. I may also just disable the Aeldari DLC if I can, although not 100% sure if that will prevent them from being selected randomly (I know they were never selected before I bought the DLC). Not ideal, but none of us will play the game again against Aeldari AI. My solution for now will be to manually "randomize" the AI players, rather than leaving them on random. Perhaps more of that is needed or something specific to AI bonuses/play needs to be looked at with regard to them. I see the first update after Aeldari already nerfed them a good bit. Something about how the AI plays or bonuses they get associated with Aeldari seems to be way out of balance. What I'm saying is we have played a ton of games at this difficulty and any game with even 1 AI player as Aeldari moves it from slight/medium challenge to beyond impossible for us. I am not saying that there wasn't some tactic we could have used that could have overcome and allowed us to somehow win. We had a stalemate in the middle for awhile, but eventually the entire force on our side was wiped out and the Aledari swarm never really diminished. Our entire group of 6 players couldn't defeat the 2 AI plays (mostly just the Aledari). ![]() Couldn't kill the space marine because his base was behind the Aeldari AI player. Then we were left with an Aeldari and Space Marine AI player. This last game of 6v6 for example, we steam rolled 4 AI players like nothing. So they have been great, fun games.Įver since we bough the Aeldari and have them show up as a random opponent, the games have been absolutely miserable. We have been playing on "Very Hard" difficulty and generally beat the AI, sometimes with a bit of a struggle but nothing too crazy. Running co-op games of 3-6 of us vs equal number of random AI on teams. We have been playing Gladius multiplayer 1-3 times a week for months now. Something seems really out of balance with the Aeldari when playing against them in multiplayer AI. ![]()
